Fête des Mères

Fête des Mères

Think one Mother's Day a year simply isn't enough?
Mums can get a second dose of attention by celebrating France's
Fête des Mères a couple of weeks after America has its own particular day.

Date:
It takes place at a different time from America which is celebrated
on the second Sunday of May. In France, it's on the last Sunday in May
unless Pentecost/Whit Sunday happens to fall on that day, in which case it’s
on the first Sunday in June.
In 2019, Fête des Mères falls on Sunday, May 26 in France.
What to Eat
The meal should be something special. How about cream of watercress
soup (this is springtime with all those fresh seasonal ingredients),
followed by roasted lemon and rosemary chicken? Or if you're
beside the sea, then the freshest shellfish and perhaps a lobster
is the food to offer.

Wherever the family lives, it's always regional, local ingredients
that are used.

We have been learning to put nouns, adverbs, adjectives and verbs.

Forest Trees

Bright green forest trees standing still in the summer breeze.
Still brown sticks flow as they go.
tall flowering plants spread throughout the land.
Soft gentle waters deep as coastal seas.
rough grey rocks pop out of the soft thick sand .
fresh earthy grass grow from the dirt.

This is the picture i had to describe

Jandal art

jandal art

This is my jandal art...
My creation is about me,
The heart explains how passionate I am about everything I do.
The background shows what some of my favorite colors are.

I found it challenging to paint the heart with the brushes because they were to thick.

Movies

The lion king

  1. Going into the cinema
  2. starting / middle
  3. finishing

As the smell of popcorn drifted across the room as I entered the
cinema to watch the lion king, as I found my way walking down some
steps toward the seats.
I sat while the movie was about to start at the bright yellow lights
began to disappear.
The movie started I was so excited,

As the movie went threw I kept falling asleep, because some
parts of it keep getting boring.

The movie was pretty interesting how simba met the warthog and the
meerkat. They took him to a place filled with trees and water and lots
of bugs.

Over the days simba was at that place with the meerkat
and the warthog he got bigger and bigger and he looked like a real lion.

I added, what I saw, what I heard.
I tried to add what I felt, what I tasted

watermelon writing

My watermelon

The skin looked hard as a crunchy lollies
Mrs Gomm slices the watermelon open it sounded like a
zipper going up and down.
The sweet delicious tastes of watermelon make want to eat
watermelon all of the time.
I hear the sounds of crunching when I bite into the watermelon.

It tasted like a watery pear that has just fallen of a tree.
